FOSTER GRANDPARENT PAID VOLUNTEERED OPPORTUNITIES


The Foster Grandparent Program is designed to provide meaningful job opportunities for people fifty-five  years of age and older who meet personal income and program guidelines. Foster Grandparents are continually needed in all counties to work four to seven hours daily in public and private schools, Head Start programs, pre-schools, day care programs and exceptional care facilities. Participants are paid a tax-free stipend, travel allowance, paid holidays, sick leave, vacation days and receive a paid annual physical. The stipend they receive has no effect on social security payments, Veteran’s benefits, public housing assistance or food stamps. Foster Grandparents also receive job training and continuous in-service training throughout the year.

Presently, foster grandparents are needed in Bureau, Carroll, LaSalle, Lee, Marshall, Ogle, Putnam, Stark and Whiteside Counties.

Assistant Office Manager - Rock Falls Office: 40 hrs./wk.; full-year. Minimum of high school diploma. Must have excellent computer literacy skills.

Family and Community Service Worker: 40 hrs./wk.; part-year. Minimum of an AAS degree in social services, human services or closely related field. BA or BS degree preferred. Persons without a BA degree will be required to obtain a Family Development Credential within 18 months of hire.
 
Lacon Teacher: 40 hrs./wk.; part-year. Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Education, Child Development, or related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE. 

Northern Practice Based Coach: 40 hrs./wk.; part-year with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE.

Northern Site Supervisor (2): 40 hrs./wk.; part year. Minimum of BA or BS degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent degree. Minimum of two years of teaching in an early childhood and/or an infant/toddler classroom. Previous supervisory experience required.

Oregon Food Service Worker/Bus Monitor: 33hrs./wk.; part year. Minimum of high school diploma or GED. Valid Illinois Driver’s License.

Ottawa Teacher Assistant: 30-35 hrs./wk.; part-year and full-year opportunities available. Minimum of AAS in early childhood education, child development, or related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE.

Ottawa Early Head Start Teacher: 40 hrs./wk.; full year. Minimum of BA in Early Childhood Education or closely related field with a minimum of 21 credit hours in Early Childhood Education or Child Development. Previous experience in a licensed early childhood setting is desired.

Polo Bus Driver/Class Aide: 30 hours/wk., part-year. Minimum of high school diploma or GED and excellent driving record. Must have held a valid driver’s license for a minimum of three (3) consecutive years prior to hire.

Rochelle Teacher Assistant: 35 hrs./wk.; full-year. Minimum of AAS in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE.

Seneca Teacher: 40 hrs./wk.; part-year. Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE.

Seneca Teacher Assistant: 35 hrs./wk.; full-year. Minimum of AAS in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE.

Site Supervisor (Office in LaSalle): 40 hrs./wk.; part-year. Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or closely related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE.​​

Spring Valley Teacher: 40 hrs./wk.; part-year. Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE.

Sterling Teacher: 40 hrs./wk.; part-year. Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE.

​​Sterling Teacher Assistants: 30 hrs./wk.; part-year opportunities. Minimum of AAS in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE.

​Streator Teacher: 40 hrs./wk.; full-year. Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE.

Streator Teacher Assistant: 35 hrs./wk.; full-year. Minimum of AAS in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE.

West Carroll Teacher Assistant: 35 hrs./wk.; full-year. Minimum of AAS in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE.

Whiteside County Parent Child-Educator: 40 hrs./week; full year; Minimum of AAS in child development, early childhood education, human services, social services or closely related field, or enrolled in a degree program with a current Home Visitor or Infant-Toddler Child Development Associate Credential (CDA).
